Brief Description

FREE SHIPPING! Very nice sounding and easy playing Maybell parlor guitar from the 1930's. The Maybell brand was made by Slingerland and the quality and craftmanship in this period of production was quite good. The kerfing is clean and well constructed with no glue drips or sloppy workmanship. These guitars were not quite on the level of Gibson's & Martin's of the period but they still were made well and lightly built. It has a Solid spruce top that is crack free and birch back and sides with a dark stain. The action is very nice and low on this guitar and the neck is straight. Currently it has Silk & Steel strings on it to lesson the strain on the delicate and aged body. It could accommodate extra light steel strings but I would suggest to keep using Silk & Steel in the future. The tuners are original and the pearl dot pins appear to be original as well. The back and sides are crack free and the sunburst finish on the back is really warm and rich. Comes with a newer chip board case.
